Artist Statement

My approach as a digital photographer is to frame and capture moments, people, nature, spaces and places at a magical moment to reveal their best qualities.  I photograph and edit subjects that draw my attention and interest, whether it be landscapes from my travels in the U.S. and abroad, urban scenes here locally in Birmingham, Alabama, or the cornfields from the outskirts of my hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska.  I also enjoy event and wedding photography as well and often consider myself to have a photojournalism quality in much of my work.

I feel that my strength lies in my composition and I intuitively enhance each image in Photoshop.  I also print my photos using an Epson printer on fine art papers.  Images can also be printed on gallery wrapped canvas.  Many of the images are in classic black and white, glowing warm tones, vibrant or lightly colored, which I believe extracts each one their true essence.
